The orchestra, a renewed venue for the imagination of the young composers of the 21^st century? The interest shown for this workshop directed by Kaija Saariaho proves the vitality of the genre, despite music for ensembles. The short work by offered by Saariaho to her friends Esa-Pekka Salonen and Magnus Lindberg for their 40th birthday is accompanied by short works by student composers.
