Julien Leroy

Julien Leroy studied conduction at the Sergiu Celibidache Stifung München, followed by classes with A. McDonnell at the Conservatoire de la Ville de Paris as well as masterclasses with V. Gergiev, K. Masur, and D. Harding. With P. Boulez and L. Cuniot he worked on the contemporary repertoire. His repertoire extends from the music of the 18th century to the music of today. From 2012 to 2015, he was assistant conductor of the Ensemble intercontemporain and conducted several premieres including Winterreise (F. Schubert/M. Andre) and Te craindre en ton absence by H. Parra. Julien Leroy is the musical director of the Paris Percussion Group and frequent partner for the ensembles Court-Circuit, Sillages, and the United Instruments of Lucilin.
