Franck Bedrossian
- Composer
Iannis Xenakis shook up musical writing of sound masses in his orchestral masterpieces—all too rarely played—such as Lichens. His compositional techniques, associated with mathematics (probability theory, games, and ensembles), also apply to Nomos Alpha for solo cello, a virtuoso prototype that makes extensive use of riddles.
From Varèse to Xenakis, a genealogical concert on Art-Science vision. Marked by the sonic energy of Xenakis, Franck Bedrossian expands the orchestral territory with the introduction of electronics. Distortion of the instrumental hierarchy, electrification of timbres, presence in the orchestra of “foreign” instruments like a hidden jazz group, Twist takes advantage of fusion as fragmentation in a never-ending game of permutation.
